  • Jake and I collaborated on the design for a custom dining table, testing it virtually in 3D, before working through the process of turning the vision into reality. Being an Architect myself with an eye for detail, the task I set for Jake was no mean feat. The design pushed a number of technical boundaries due to its size, the curves, splayed legs, hand finished edged profiles, and custom wax finishes to tie in with our existing colours. Jake, however, was up to the task and meticulous throughout the process, with regular communication and an attention to detail that gave me confidence our aspirations would be achieved ... and I think the end product speaks for itself.

Marshall Wood, a small enterprise that creates beautiful handmade timber furniture in their Perth studio, was founded as recently as 2019 when Jake could no longer avoid his destiny – to bring his talent and passion for design and fabrication of timber furniture together, producing artisan goods that are enjoyed not only in Australia but by clients around the world.
